Migrante Canada opposes the Bongbong Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte tandem in the upcoming Philippine elections in 2022. We must remember that it was the regime of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos that systematized the migration of Filipinos through the Labour Export Policy which continues to tear families and communities apart. Under the Duterte regime, overseas Filipino workers continue to be neglected and abandoned, made even more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a bloody, murderous, and corrupt history, the Marcos-Duterte alliance poses the biggest and most dangerous threat to the Filipino people and the nation’s democracy and sovereignty.
