While Filipinos Suffer Typhoon Crising, Marcos Jr. Sells Out the Nation in the U.S.

As Typhoon Crising batters parts of the Philippines and thousands of Filipinos face floods, displacement, and government neglect, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is nowhere to be found among the people. Instead, he is in the United States for a state visit—shamelessly selling out our sovereignty and deepening military agreements with the very imperialist power responsible for our country’s economic and political backwardness.

At a time when the Filipino people need genuine relief, leadership, and concrete action, Marcos Jr. chooses to serve the interests of U.S. imperialism. His trip to Washington is not for the Filipino people—it is for the signing of more military deals, expanding U.S. troop presence through EDCA sites, and opening the country further to foreign control. These are acts of betrayal, not diplomacy.

Migrante Canada stands in solidarity with the victims of Typhoon Crising and all communities abandoned by a regime more interested in pleasing foreign masters than protecting its people. We condemn the Marcos regime’s criminal neglect and its treacherous collaboration with U.S. militarism.

Now more than ever, we call on overseas Filipinos and all freedom-loving people to oppose U.S. military intervention, reject Marcos' puppetry, and strengthen the struggle for national sovereignty, genuine relief, and people’s democracy.

Makibaka, huwag matakot!

Junk EDCA and all unequal military agreements!

Advance the people’s struggle for national liberation!
