SAGIP MIGRANTE: TYPHOON ODETTE (RAI) UPDATES December 27, 2021
Maraming salamat (thank you!) to all of our donors so far. The first batch of donations have been sent to BAYAN Central Visayas for their joint relief efforts with Alibyo Cebu-Ayuda Network and UCCP (United Church of Christ in the Philippines) West Visayas Jurisdictional Area.
Their relief efforts have been able to: - Distribute 1,864 relief packs of canned goods, rice, noodles, masks, hygiene products, clothes, blankets and towels in Metro Cebu - Served approximately 1,700 community meals to urban poor communities
As we continue to help our kababayans affected by Typhoon Odette, we continue to urge and demand the Philippine government to release calamity funds and to respond quicker to provide immediate relief and assistance to the victims of Typhoon Odette.
We join our fellow Filipinos in holding the Duterte administration accountable for their neglect and lack of urgency with their slow disaster response. For our next batch of donations, we will be directing funds to the Consortium for People’s Development-Disaster Response. More details to follow.
