About Us
WHO IS MIGRANTE ONTARIO
MIGRANTE-Ontario is an alliance of organisations working for the rights and welfare of migrants in Ontario through various initiatives such as organizing, education, training and advocacy. We work closely with other migrant groups in Montreal Winnipeg and BC. Migrante-Ontario is part of a global network of migrant and global based progressive organisations. We are a member of Migrante International - a global alliance of Filipinos abroad with presence in Asia, America, Europe and The Middle East.
OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- Educate, organize and mobilize Filipinos in Ontario
- Promote the rights and welfare of Filipinos migrants in Ontario
- Work to unite among Filipinos in Ontario
- Support overseas Filipinos in partnership with Migrante-International, the global alliance of overseas Filipinos
- To generate support for the struggle of Filipino people for a just and humane society
- To work with other migrant organizations, trade unions and social justice organizations
PROGRAMS
-- EDUCATION
Migrante-Ontario conducts leadership training, skills training and other courses for Filipino migrants in cooperation with members organizations. It distributes informative materials such as primers, Philippine situationers and info on issues affecting migrants.
-- ADVOCACY AND CAMPAIGNS
Migrante-Ontario conducts campaigns to seek actions from the Canadian and the Philippine governments to protect the rights and welfare of migrant Filipinos. Campaigns are also conducted in support of issues happening in the Philippines
-- SOLIDARITY
Migrante-Ontario works for the development of positive relations with existing Filipino organizations and other migrant groups, unions and people of Canada through campaigns, projects and programs. These collaborations will strenghthen Migrante-Ontario’s work and help attain our objectives.

The aims and objectives of Migrante-Ontario can only be attained through a thorough step-by-step organizing. It aspire to address the needs and empower the community.
